As Seen on Dragons’ Den

On Season 20, Episode 6 of CBC’s Dragons’ Den, MATT Concrete took its ultra-thin, low-carbon concrete panels to a national audience and walked away with a deal from Dragon Arlene Dickinson.

“You have passion in your business. You’re emotional about it."

On air, the Dragons lifted, nailed, and handled the panels themselves—seeing first-hand that they are light, easy to install with standard tools, and suitable for DIY and professional projects alike.

What the Dragons saw

A new way to work with concrete

– A real concrete surface on a thin sheet that can be cut, nailed, or glued like plywood, but looks and wears like concrete

Speed and simplicity

- Dragon Drew Scott, who regularly installs concrete-look surfaces on his projects, recognized that MATT’s panels could significantly speed up timelines and reduce on-site mess

The offers:
two Dragons, one deal

After a round of tough questioning on margins, capacity, and go-to-market, the pitch led to two competing offers by Arlene Dickinson and Drew Scott.

In the end, Randy and Kevin chose to partner with Arlene Dickinson at $150,000 for 20%

Let’s build what’s next, together

Our time in the Den was one milestone. The real work is what comes next: scaling production, expanding distribution, and a professional sales team to bring MATT panels to more projects across North America.
